Georg Forster Research Award (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation)

Dr. Mirabbos Hojamberdiev (Turin Polytechnic University, Tashkent, Uzbekistan). Dr. Hojamberdiev has published more than 110 papers (65 in the last five years), of which 40 are first-authored, in international peer-reviewed journals and given numerous invited talks/presentations at international conferences or invited universities. The main research activity of Dr. Hojamberdiev centers at the development, characterization, and application of visible-light-active photocatalytic materials for energy and environmental applications.
He is coming to TU Berlin in August 2018.

Master graduate Edo Raihan
Our master graduate Edo Raihan has successfully started his career at Pertamina in the R&D Center. They successfully manufacture NCA batteries.
He works on decentralized energy concepts and developed the battery pack (battery management system & charge controller) while the other team members work on the battery cell production. The battery will be used for electric motorbikes in 2019. It is not yet a solid-state battery though. Later, the battery will be the backbone of their decentralized energy concept.

New Publication: Towards the colonization of Mars by in-situ resource utilization: Slip cast ceramics from Martian soil simulant
Our team developed a new approach for the production of ceramic components on Mars using a concept that many human civilisations employed and which is still used today – traditional ceramics. Our ceramic parts from Martian soil simulant are equal or surpass the mechanical properties of porcelain and could be used in various ways by the first colonists on Mars.
