Functional oxide ceramics
We develop new synthesis and processing methods and explore the functional properties of complex oxide ceramics. Oxide ceramics possess a variety of properties that allow for a range of applications. We are especially interested in sensors, transparent conductive oxides, photocatalysts, thermoelectrics, multiferroics, bioceramics and electrode materials.
Topics
- synthesis of metastable oxide polymorphs
- growth of single crystals
- AMn2O4 oxides with spinel structure, where A=Al3+, Ga3+, In3+...
- multiferroic hexagonal layered oxides AMnO3, where A= Y3+, In3+
- in-situ characterisation of structural phase transitions
- high pressure and high temperature studies
